Project overview
This renovation project focused on improving acoustic comfort and the overall indoor environment in a family apartment in Carlsberg Byen, Copenhagen. As the family's children became teenagers, there was an increasing need for greater privacy and better sound insulation, particularly in relation to bedrooms, music, gaming, and everyday activities within the home.
To address these needs, TexBatt 37 Bio was installed in newly constructed partition walls and around the staircase structure. With sound reduction of up to 41 dB in partition wall constructions, the solution helped reduce sound transmission between different areas of the home, while specially designed acoustic doors further enhanced acoustic comfort.
The renovation focused on materials that support a healthier indoor environment. TexBatt 37 Bio is classified VOC A+ and contributes to improved indoor air quality.
At the same time, the insulation is made from recycled textile fibres, helping to reduce its environmental footprint.
Project impact
The renovation helped create quieter and more comfortable living spaces for the family by reducing sound transmission between rooms and around the staircase area. By using textile-based insulation, the project combined acoustic comfort with low-emission materials, supporting a healthier indoor environment.
At the same time, the project demonstrates how recycled textile resources can be integrated into modern residential renovations, contributing to comfort, functionality, and a more responsible use of materials.
